Airspace radio requirements
What you must say — and have — to fly into each class of US airspace.
Class B
The busiest airports. You need an explicit clearance to enter.
Class C
Moderately busy airports. Two-way radio contact gets you in.
Class D
Towered airports. Establish two-way contact with the tower before entering.
Class E
Controlled airspace where no radio call is required for VFR.
Class G
Uncontrolled airspace. No ATC — you see, avoid, and announce.
